Santa Ana Real Estate Santa Ana Real Estate is located on 27 square miles of Orange County´s vast land. When William H. Spurgeon rode through the town all he could see was tall yellow mustard.He climbed atop a sycamore tree and viewed the land.He later bought 76.2 acres from Jacob Ross Sr. for $595.00.Ross had purchased 650 acres from Jose Antonia Yorba who was granted the land from the Spanish expedition of Portola in 1769. Portola had named the city Santa Ana in honor of Saint Anne on July 26, 1769. It was incorporated and separated from Los Angeles in 1889.Soon after it was designated as the County Seat for Orange County. Spurgeon sold his town in blocks of ten lots each and committed his long life in service for the city. He died in 1915 at the ripe old age of 88. Spurgeon opened a small general store, post office and built and paid for a road through the mustard fields for transportation to and from Anaheim to meet the Wells Fargo Stage coach. Of coarse the railroad brought many along the way to Santa Ana. Spurgeon also started the artesian well for the water supply for his great city. Today it is still known as the financial and governmental center of Orange County and a major city in the state of California. Santa Ana Real Estate is about 12 miles inland from the Pacific Ocean and today has a population of around 351,697 people. The city is approximately 134 feet above sea level and 27.2 square miles and the ninth largest city in California. The Santa Ana School District offers its 56,000 students after school care, and Gifted & Talented Education. They are also involved in the No Child Left Behind program. The weather is most enjoyable with average temperatures in the 60´s during the winter months and 80´s in the summer. Local attractions include the Bowers Museum of Cultural Arts, where just about every elementary school age child takes a field trip. It is one of the only museums in the United States devoted to promoting human understanding through its beautiful collection of art.The Centennial Heritage Museum is a natural and cultural center for promoting the preservation of this county´s heritage.
Tried and true the Santa Ana Zoo is a creative educational zoo relaying the message of conservation to the young and old alike. It costs about $6 for adults and $3 for children under the age of 12 to enjoy the day. The zoo offers picnic areas and birthday parties. It is also a wonderful place to volunteer your time. Downtown Historic Santa Ana has wonderful shopping area for the 70% of Hispanics that live in the area.The biggest draw here is the lavish shops for formal wear. Every town has a historic home they have preserved and Santa Ana Real Estate is no different. The Dr. Howe-Waffle House was owned by a local doctor and is truly a work of art. So much so, that the Santa Ana Historic society in 1975 moved the house to keep it from urban developers. It has daily tours and is quite a grand picture of our past.
